Francesca De Montigny Private Cultural DNA™

The art of giving form to what sets you apart.

Your homes, the works that surround you, the objects you choose and those you will one day pass on all tell a story. What matters is recognising the thread that runs through it.

I guide private clients in revealing their cultural and aesthetic identity, then in expressing it through their residences, artworks, collections, acquisitions and what they choose to pass on.

A guiding thread for choices that reflect who you are

A residence, an artwork, an inherited object, an acquisition or a collection can each express a different facet of the same identity. Yet these decisions are often made separately, as projects, encounters and opportunities arise.

Private Cultural DNA™ brings them together. We explore your history, your references, your attachments and what you wish to bring to life around you. From this material a personal direction emerges: a cultural and aesthetic thread that informs your present and future choices, without confining your tastes to a single style.

Work table covered with books, albums and drawings.

Private Cultural DNA™

A personal approach, confidential and cross-disciplinary

The engagement begins with an in-depth conversation about what matters to you: the places that have shaped you, the works that move you, the objects you keep, the cultures you feel close to, the collections that draw you in and the traces you wish to leave.

We then identify the themes, tensions, correspondences and decision criteria that make up your world. This reading becomes a compass for your projects: depending on the mission, it takes shape in a place, a collection strategy, an acquisition process or a reflection on legacy.

When a project calls for legal, tax, estate, financial or authentication expertise, I coordinate the dialogue with the relevant professionals so that the whole remains coherent, without ever taking their place.

What this direction can bring into focus

I

Residences & living spaces

Bringing continuity to your different homes by defining the atmosphere, materials, uses, artworks, objects and singular pieces that express your identity.

II

Art & collection

Defining a collecting direction, structuring your acquisition criteria and gradually building a coherent, documented and meaningful ensemble. Drawing on your Private Cultural DNA™, clarifying your artistic and cultural affinities and giving coherence to the works and objects that enter your world.

III

Acquisition & curation

Research, shortlisting and contextualisation of artworks, objects and collector’s pieces in keeping with your Private Cultural DNA™. Where needed, coordination of exchanges with gallerists, artists, auction houses, experts, auctioneers and other specialists.

IV

Legacy & heritage

Identifying what deserves to be preserved, documented, shared or passed on: artworks, jewellery, family heirlooms, archives, libraries, collections and stories. Recording their history, then preparing their transmission in coordination, where necessary, with your legal, tax and estate advisers.

One identity. Many expressions.

The aim is not to multiply choices, but to give them coherence. Private Cultural DNA™ connects what you inhabit, what you look at, what you acquire, what you keep and what you will pass on.

From exploration to a clear direction

Private Cultural DNA™ is the Maison’s proprietary framework: a method of cultural and aesthetic direction designed to connect places, artworks, acquisitions and all that deserves to be passed on.

Inspirations and visual research

Places, artworks and objects that carry meaning

A singular world does not rest on an accumulation of luxury signs, but on the rightness of each choice: a familiar material, a work that opens a conversation, an object kept for its story, a piece acquired with discernment, a light that changes the way a place is lived in.

The images presented here evoke atmospheres, materials and avenues of research around Private Cultural DNA™.

Portrait of Francesca De Montigny

Francesca De Montigny

Trained in interior architecture, I learned to read a place through its volumes, its materials and its uses. My background in law and my interest in art, objects and family histories broadened that perspective: before setting any direction, I seek to understand what a place must express, preserve and pass on.

This approach is now enriched by a specialisation in the art market, collection building, the appraisal of artworks and the heritage questions surrounding works and objects of cultural value.

With Private Cultural DNA™, I bring these perspectives together to guide choices that touch several areas of life: residence, art, collection, acquisition and cultural legacy. My role is to bring out a direction true to your identity, clear enough to guide your decisions and the work of the professionals who will carry them out.
